Why donate to CanadaHelps rather than donate directly through the Mama-Africa website?

By using CanadaHelps, Mama-Africa does not have to spend money processing your credit card donations. CanadaHelps allows us to ensure that more of your money goes towards helping our grassroots efforts in Africa, while making it easy and secure for you to make your donations to us.

What portion of my donation goes to CanadaHelps?

A very modest portion of 3% is given to CanadaHelps to help cover the costs of processing the transactions, including credit card merchant rates, per transaction charges, banking and disbursement fees. Until recently, CanadaHelps had been covering the full cost of processing for all donations. In order to continue this valuable service to donors and charities, they have begun deducting this modest amount.

Is the site secure?

Yes. All information, including financial and personal information, as well as any other records, are securely protected. CanadaHelps has worked extensively with online security experts to ensure that the site not only meets, but far exceeds security requirements.
